Crafting keeps me Sane in a world of insanity.
I make all kinds of things from party stuff (decorations, invitations, diaper cakes, etc) as well as cards. I also do a bit of scrapbooking. Here you will find videos of the projects I have made.
Hello everyone. How's is your summer going so far? Today is our first week of summer vacation. So far its going alright. I have a friend coming over to craft with me today. I am so looking forward to that. My cold is finally gone which is great and my kids are getting their chores done with out have to be asked 20 times. So all in all a great start to the vacation as well as the week. Today's project is for my best friend Ashley. Her middle child is turning 2 and her youngest is turning 1 this summer. Now even though they have different birthday days (in fact one is in late June and the other is early August) she decide to have a joint party in July for both the kids. So I am helping her by making the party decorations for the party. They are having a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party. She asked for a sign to hang on the front door. After she showed me what she wanted I was happy to make. I download a font to my computer to use for the lettering and then just cut everything out. Once it was all put together I add a lot of clear wink of Stella to give it some shine. The size of everything is at least 11.5 wide. I wanted them as big as I could get them.
I have finally finished my craft room. Well it has been done for a while now but I finally got a chance to video the redo. I am really loving the set up (but still wishing I had a bigger room lol) and after working in the space i think this is going to be a good fit. So sit back and enjoy my Craftroom tour.
Hello all I'm back. It has been so long since I have filmed or created something on camera to share with you. I have been busy with just life and then this crappy cold that has been hanging around for last three weeks. I am finally tired of trying to beat it myself so I am going to the doctors tomorrow and hopefully they can help get rid of the yuck. This is not how I wanted my summer vacation to start. Where did the year go? It seemed like we just had spring break and now this is my kids last week of school. Not sure I am ready for them to be home all the time lol. Anyways on to the project at hand. Father's day is this Sunday (again where did the time go) and I wanted to make my dad a card. But trying to come up with something for him is not always easy. He's not into fishing but he is into football. He dose have a lot of tool but doesn't really use them much so the typical type of father's day cards don't really fit him. I know I could do a football themed card but then I am stuck when it comes to he's birthday. So as i was searching the web for something, I don't remember what, I found a picture of a recliner and that's when it hit me. This would make a great card for him. Now he no longer owns a recliner but he dose sit in a arm chair and has a foot stool so I think that's close enough to a recliner don't you? I found an image of a recliner in Cricut Design Space that I liked. It's a simple image which makes this an easy card to make. I laid it all out on my mat and once I was happy with the sizing it was just a matter of coming up with a fitting sentiment. I used Simple Celebrations font and had the machine do the writing on some Stone colored cardstock which I had cut out to be 4 x 5.25. I then took some scraps of red and black cardstock and cut out the image. I glues the chair together using some Tombow Mono. I took some 110 lbs white cardstock and folded that at 4.25 to make a top folding card. I then used the same glue and glued down the front panel to the card base. Once that was in place I add the chair.
For the inside of the card I had the same size stone colored cardstock and using the same font just put Happy Father's Day on it. I then glued that to the inside of the card base and may card is finished.
This not only makes a great simple father's day card but you can total use it as a birthday card as well, just remove Happy Father's Day. I really love this card. Now i just have to figure out what to do for my husband who is even harder or a guy to make a card for lol. Thank you all for hanging in there with me and joining me for today's card. I will have another video for you on Wednesday so stay turned for that. And hopefully I will be able to keep up with blog post and videos even after the kids get out of school.
