To Die for Friday - Baby Shower Card

Sorry this has taken me so long to post. I thought I had until I looked and saw that no I didn't. I have left everything in here so you can see how crazy I can some times be.

I finally found the footage for today's post and wanted to add it to this but I never even posted this blog post. Wow I guess taking some time off was not helpful lol. I am finally getting things back in order and uploaded on here and YouTube. I hopefully will be able to continue once school is out which for us is right around the corner (not sure I am looking forward to it either lol).

I want to share everything from the baby shower but the post for all this will just go on for days. So I will be share the baby shower decorations in a different post on a separate day. I had such a great time and my friend did an amazing job putting this all together.

I want to share this fun card I made for the soon to be mother, well this is her third child. I thought it would be so much fun to combine three different stamps sets from Lawn Fawn as well as using some two different dies. I have been wanting to use the Loads of Fun stamp set since Lawn Fawn first introduced them. With a baby shower to go to I wanted to stick to the theme of the shower and that is how I came up with this card. The theme of the baby shower was April Showers bring May baby. So she picked umbrellas and rain. So lets get right into it there's a lot to cover.

From Lawn Fawn's Plus One stamp set I stamped out the stork and umbrella using memento black in and colored them with my copic markers.I colored everything with the same colors we used for the shower. I used C00 and C02 for the body of the stork and for the beak I used YR04 and YR14. I used BG000 and BG01 for the sack since she had a baby boy. The umbrella I colored with G02. I then took C00 and C02 and gave the clouds just a little bit of color. Once everything was colored I die cut them out and I took my x-acto knife to cut a slit just above the beak so it will look like the stork is hold both.

I used the largest Stitched Rectangle and die cut some light blue cardstock for the back ground. I then die cut out a bunch of clouds from the Spring Showers die. I laid everything out on the card to see if i need more clouds and where I wanted to put the sentiment. Once I was happy with the placement I took some memento black ink and stamped out the sentiment from Little Bundle stamp set. I then used ranger multi mat to glue down the clouds and stork. I cut off the clouds that hung over the sides and glued the back ground on to the top folding A2 size card base.

For the inside I colored (with the same colors) the laundry basket from the Loads of Fun and glued it in place. I stamped the sentiment from Little Bundle I just covered the parentheses with some tape so I would not stamp them. I thought it was just a funny way to not only welcome the new baby but to joke about the extra laundry she was going to have.

I really had fun not only coming up with this card idea but putting it together. I love the idea of combining so many different stamp set and dies. Keep a look out for the post sharing the baby shower decorations. Thank you guys for going me and I hope you all have a great weekend.
